Legislative Home
The ASUNM Senate is charged with serving as the representative voice of the undergraduate students of the University of New Mexico. This is accomplished through representation at full senate meetings, the three standing committees and three ad-hoc committees. Additionally, each senator represents an ASUNM agency and a chartered organization.
ASUNM Vice President
Adrian Cortinas is a senior at the University of New Mexico majoring in Environmental Planning and Design. He is a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity, the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC), and a recipient of Who's Who Among Universities and Colleges. Email: asunmvp@unm.edu
Legislative Coordinator
The legislative coordinator is tasked with assisting the Vice President in an administrative capacity. They also assist the Vice President in facilitating meetings. Additionally, they serve as a means of communication between both the Senate and the Vice President as well as between the Vice President and the undergraduate student body when a direct means of communication is not possible.
Nicholas Starr is completing his fifth year at UNM and his major is English. He previously served as an Associate Justice on the Student Court. He is an avid reader and writer, who is able to maintain literary pursuits outside of those necessary for academics and in the scope of his duties to ASUNM. He is also an AP scholar with Honor, member of the Mortar Board-Maia chapter, Who's Who Among College Students, and a recipient of an Exemplary Service to ASUNM award.
Senate Clerk
Taylor Bui is a freshman at UNM. He was born and raised in Albuquerque, NM and is a recent graduate of La Cueva High School. Taylor spends his days hiking, biking, golfing and playing tennis. Another pastime of his is cooking and he hopes to tour Europe and try as many different foods as possible. Taylor also enjoys reading and following politics. He intends to major in English and follow up with a career in Law and Politics.
